How do I get started?

You may contact us at (209) 826-8623 to schedule an appointment, or you may stop by our clinic at: Los Banos Physical Therapy, 820 2nd Street, at the corner of H and 2nd in Los Banos. At this time, we will request some information about you to help you get started right away.

What should I expect on my first visit?

There will be some basic paperwork to complete, requesting personal and insurance information (please remember to bring in your physical therapy prescription, insurance cards and any written reports such as operation reports, x-rays, MRI or anything pertaining to your condition). After paperwork is completed, the licensed physical therapist will ask you a series of questions about your past and present condition before performing a comprehensive evaluation pertaining to your condition or injury. Based on your physician’s diagnosis, our prognosis and your personal goals, an individual treatment plan will be devised. You will receive treatment and some further instructions on some home exercises as needed. Further appointments will be scheduled at this time.

What types of treatments do you perform?

We perform various types of treatments and will individualize a program combining the best treatments geared toward your particular condition. Some types of treatments we do are soft tissue massage, deep tissue massage, joint mobilization, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, phonophoresis, stretching, therapeutic exercises and ice. The treatment program will vary based on your injury and will be performed in a private treatment room as well as a gym setting using a variety of athletic and rehabilitation equipment.

How long is each appointment?

Since each patient has an individualized program, each visit will vary according to your condition / injury. The visits are approximately 30 – 60 minutes in duration.

How often will I need to attend physical therapy?

The frequency and duration will depend on your physician’s prescription and physical therapist’s prognosis. By regularly attending your physical therapy sessions, the more likely you are to recover. We try to set up a consistent appointment time to help you make scheduling consistent.

How do you communicate with my doctor?

We are always in close communication with your doctor through the initial evaluation, progress notes and phone calls. We both share the same goal of helping you recover as quickly as possible.
